finally got the cords and dongles needed to record off my thrifted overhead camera doodad..! gonna try some new video stuff

if you ever need to capture video from an old device, there's composite to usb things that require drivers, and vga to usb things that are expensive and require drivers, BUT there's hdmi to usb things that are cheap as hell and present themselves as usb cameras, no drivers required! i'm lucky this thing has a dvi output (easily converted to hdmi), next to its VGA, S-video, and composite video outputs.
