previously, when i upgraded the ram in the macintosh SE, i also cut out the battery, without a replacement. i took care of that today, best i could, considering i don't have the means to solder legs to a battery


i made the best battery holder i could out of stuff from dana's junk bin
yes, it works perfect, (after some fiddling for vertical clearance in the case)
the ziptie was originally going to go above the battery, which is why the wire on the + side has that tall section, but tightening the ziptie up there put too much stress on the solder where i attached the copper to the through-hole leads on the motherboard. after the fourth time it snapped off i just moved the ziptie. was apparently able to make good contact anyway, because the clock and my settings are preserved between power cycles now.
